Knowledge transfer and engagement
I seek to connect scholarly knowledge with the strategic problems faced by firms, clusters and public institutions. This transfer orientation informs my research, teaching and cooperation with entrepreneurs and managers.
For eight years, I combined academic work with the foundation and management of a consulting new venture. This experience provided direct exposure to strategic development, organizational change and the practical constraints that shape decision-making in smaller firms.
Sectoral and territorial strategy
I have contributed to competitive projects and non-competitive contracts focused on the Galician business ecosystem. A prominent strand concerned the development of seventeen monographs on “chains of business activities”—an adaptation of the cluster concept to territorially distributed input–output relationships and value chains.
Innovation and industrial ecosystems
Further projects examined innovation priorities in sectors including wood-based industries, textiles and fashion, tourism, logistics and freight transport. Several initiatives supported cluster formation or strategic planning in areas such as wood, thermal tourism, carpentry, forestry and logistics.
